Box Score The Trinity men's basketball team was back at home as they took on the Calumet College of St. Joseph Crimson Wave. The Trolls took control of the game early, and by the end, were able to secure the win.
In the first half, the Trolls took a nine-point lead, heading into halftime with a score of 40-31. Once both teams were back on the court, the Crimson Wave started making a comeback, picking up five more points than Trinity in the second half. This wasn't enough to help Calumet win, resulting in a score of 83-79 in favor of Trinity.
Recording the most points for Trinity was redshirt sophomore James Pennington. He finished the game with 23 points, shooting nine for 15 from the field. He also grabbed six rebounds and a team-high seven assists. Senior Josh Shannon also contributed a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Freshmen Vince Overway and Erik Cohn added double-digit points to the stat sheet, scoring 18 and 13 respectively. Overway also had two assists while Cohn registered four rebounds.
The Trolls are now 9-15 overall and 5-12 in conference play. They will be back in the DeVos Gymnasium on Tuesday, Feb. 11 as they host Cardinal Stritch. The game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
