Two double-doubles help Trolls secure win against Crimson Wave

The Trinity women's basketball team was back at home today as they faced the Calumet College of St. Joseph Crimson Wave. Both teams fought hard throughout the contest, but the Trolls were able to come out with the win.

In the first half of the game, the Trolls were up 41-25 on the Crimson Wave. As the game continued, Calumet was able to gain back points, but not enough to secure the win. Trinity won the game 76-68.

Leading for Trinity was junior Abby Coates, who recorded stats in every category. She finished the day with 18 points, 12 rebounds, five steals, four assists and two blocks. She also went three for five on three-point field goals today.

Two other Trolls finished with double-digit points, and they were juniors Jasmine Elliott and Lexi Marin. Marin registered 14 points while Elliott had a team-high 20 points along with 11 rebounds to record a double-double.

Trinity now has an overall record of 6-20 and a conference record of 4-14. The Trolls will be back in action again on Wednesday, Feb. 12 as they travel to Judson University. The game is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
