Box Score BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – It has been nearly 40 days since the Trinity Christian College men's basketball team faced off against an opponent when it entered McHie Arena on Saturday, Jan. 2 to take on Olivet Nazarene University. Despite taking a brief early lead and being down only eight at the half, the Trolls were unable to knock of the defending Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) co-Champions, falling 96-72 in the conference opener.
The Trinity Christian (1-4, 0-1) offense was led by Vince Overway, who finished the afternoon with season-high 16 points (6-of-11, FG; 4-of-7, 3-Pt.). Sterling Brown added 13 points (5-of-14, FG; 2-of-5, 3-Pt; 1-of-3, FT) and led the team with eight rebounds and four assists. Nurell Lacey added 11 points, while Jalyn Clark came off the bench to add seven.
The Trolls will return to action on Wednesday, Jan 6 when they host Lincoln Christian College (Ill.) in a non-conference matchup. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
