Box Score PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Trinity Christian College women's basketball team did not seem fazed by the No. 12 ranking that they Fighting Saints of the University of St. Francis brought into their home arena on Wednesday, Jan. 6. The Trolls quietly jumped out to a 6-0 lead to start the game, finishing the opening quarter holding on to a slight advantage. The Saints took the lead for good late in the second period, eventually picking up a 48-38 win.
Gabby Kreykes notched her second consecutive double-double, pumping in a team-leading 18 points (5-of-11, FG; 8-of-12, FT) and pulling in a team-high 12 rebounds, including 11 on the defensive end. Summer Cramer added 11 points for the Trolls, while Jasmine Glover added six rebounds and team-high four steals.
Trinity (2-3, 0-2) will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 9 hosting host Holy Cross College (Ind.). Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. in the DeVos Center. Last season the two teams split in head-to-head matchups, with the Saints winning 73-69 in DeVos and the Trolls redeeming themselves 82-70 on the road. At this time no fans are permitted in attendance, but the game will be live streamed.
