Box Score PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Finding themselves down by four at the end of the opening period, Head Coach Theo Owens and the Trinity Christian College women's basketball team made some critical adjustments at the break. The result was almost immediate as the Trolls outscored the visiting Saints of Holy Cross College 17-8 in the second period to take a 35-30 lead into halftime. Despite a hiccup in the final period, the Trolls picked up their first Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) win of the season, downing the Saints 68-63.
Each team had a quarter that they would like to take back. The Saints shot a mere 14.3 percent in the second period, allowing the Trolls to overcome their four-point deficit from the opening quarter. The Trolls returned the favor in the fourth, shooting just 15.4 percent and being outscored by the Saints 20-9, giving the hope of a comeback.
Gabby Kreykes notched her third consecutive double-double, connecting for a team-leading 20 points (7-of-19, FG; 6-of-7, FT) while pulling in 16 rebounds. She also dished out a team-high five assists. Summer Cramer added 10 points in the winning effort, while Anne Peters, Christina Kelley and Laila Rodriguez finished with nine points each.

• Trinity evened up their record to 3-3 with the win over the Saints. They are now 1-2 in the CCAC, sitting in seventh place.
• Kreykes is the leading scorer in the CCAC, averaging 18.17 points per game. She also ranks 17th in the NAIA in Defensive Rebounds per Game (7.167).
• The Trolls rank 17th in the NAIA in 3-Point Field Goal Percentage (.366).
The Trolls (3-3, 1-2) return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 13, traveling to Governors State University (Ill.) in non-conference action. The Jaguars enter the game sporting a 2-8 overall record and a 1-0 mark in conference place. In their last meeting, on February 19, 2020, Governors State came away with a 67-61 win.
