Box Score PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – The final home game of the regular season is always bittersweet, but in the 2020-21 season its also quite an accomplishment. The Trinity Christian College women's basketball team certainly made the most of their opportunity on Wednesday, Feb. 17 when they hosted Governors State University (Ill.) in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference action. With the conference tournament starting next week the Jaguars entered the contest in a dogfight for second place in the standings. The Trolls didn't seem to notice as they took the lead with just over four minutes to play in the opening quarter and held on for a 55-50 victory.

- Gabby Kreykes: Team-high 23 points (9-of-18, FG; 5-of-6, FT) and 13 rebounds, two assists, two steals, three blocks.
- Jasmine Elliott: 16 points (6-of-15, FG; 2-of-4, 3Pt; 2-of-2, FT), seven rebounds, two assists
- Summer Cramer: 10 points (3-of-13, 3Pt; 1-of-2, FT), team-leading four steals and four assists
- Abby Coates: Three blocks, six points, four rebounds, two assists
NEWS AND NOTES
- With 23 points on the night, Gabby Kreykes has surpassed 400 points on the season in just 18 games. She is also just three rebounds shy of the 200 mark. She currently leads the CCAC in both scoring and rebounds.
- Tonight, the program recognized and honored its eight seniors – Jasmine Elliott, Abby Coates, Alyssa Mulligan, Paige Hacker, Lexi Marin, Jasmine Glover, Miranda Garcia and Cayla Winters.
- The CCAC Tournament will start on Tuesday, Feb. 23. This season, all teams are eligible to participate and winning percentage will not be used for seeding purposes. Instead, a ranking system has been approved, along with a coaches rating. The final standings should be announced Sunday evening with opening round opponents, locations and times.
WHAT'S NEXT
Trinity (7-11, 3-7) will play in the final regular season game on the road on Saturday, Feb. 29 at Roosevelt University (Ill.). In their last meeting, the Trolls downed the Lakers 81-71. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. Currently, Roosevelt does not allow spectators, but the game is available on the Lakers Sports Network.
