Whiting, Ind. - Following a big win over Holy Cross earlier in the week, Trinity Christian College men's basketball (8-10, 4-7 CCAC) couldn't hold down Calumet College (4-8, 3-7 CCAC) on Saturday afternoon. The Crimson Wave held a 20-point lead at halftime and never took their foot off the gas, winning by a final of 80-66.

Vince Overway and Braxton Barnhizer each scored 16 points to pace the Trolls offense.

Calumet opened the game with a 26-9 lead and Noel Mpie led the Crimson Wave offense. He finished with 16 points in the first half and 20 for the game. Mpie also snagged 16 rebounds on the night.

With Trinity Christian trailing 46-26 at halftime, the two teams traded baskets to begin the second half. The Trolls could never get it within less than 14 points and Calumet led the game from start to finish.

NOTES & NUMBERS:

• The Trolls were held to just 39.3% from the field. It's just the fifth time this year they have been held under 40%. They are 0-5 in those contests.
• Calumet won the glass at 45-37. Last time the two teams met in November, it was Trinity Christian dominating the boards 56-43.
• James Pennington scored all eight of his points from the free-throw line. He went 8-for-10. It's the third time this year he has reached 10+ free-throw attempts in a game.
• Vince Overway had scored in double-figures in just one of his first 14 games to open the season. He has now scored in double-figures in five of his last six games. He's averaging 13.1 ppg during that stretch. 
• Braxton Barnhizer has been an animal on the boards. On Saturday he had 11 rebounds. In his last three games, he's averaging 13.7 rebounds per game.
