Box Score Palos Heights, Ill. - Trinity Christian College women's basketball (11-7, 6-6 CCAC) had their hands full with a Cardinal Stritch (5-13, 3-9 CCAC) team that constantly has five players on the floor who can pass, dribble and shoot the basketball. On Wednesday night, it was on full display as the Wolves came to DeVos gymnasium and handed Trinity Christian College a 78-59 loss.
Senior guard Summer Cramer paced the Trolls in the second half. She scored 16 of her season-high 22 points in the final 20 minutes of game action, but it wasn't enough.
Cardinal Stritch went into halftime with a 13-point lead thanks to a 14-5 second quarter. The Trolls trailed by 15 after the third quarter. The Trolls finished off a 7-0 run to start the fourth quarter when Cramer was fouled on a layup and hit a free-throw to earn a three-point play. They trailed at just 51-43 with 8:53 to play, but that was as close as they'd come.
NOTES & NUMBERS:
- Cramer had a season-high 22 points and her third 20+ point performance this season. She was two points shy of her career-high.
- Freshman Hannah Schuringa snagged her third consecutive game in double-figures. She scored 11 points. In her last five games, she's averaging 15 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.4 steals and 2.6 blocks.
- Sophomore Sarah Page scored 10 points in her DeVos Gymnasium debut. Page is a transfer from Andrews University.
- Cardinal Stritch won the boards. They outrebounded the Trolls 45-26 while they shot 51.6% from the field.
UP NEXT: The Trolls will go back on the road this Saturday, Jan. 22 to take on first place St. Ambrose (20-1, 13-1 CCAC) at 1:00 p.m.
