Box Score WHITING, Ind. – Five Trolls finished in double figures, but Trinity struggled to keep pace with the host Crimson Wave, falling 83-69 at Calumet in CCAC play on Saturday afternoon.
Saeer Miller came off the bench to score a game-high 24 points for Trinity (3-2, 1-2 CCAC), on 8-of-13 shooting. Troy Glover recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Brady Loerop finished with 11 points, and John Cison and Michael Wright scored 10 points apiece.
The Crimson Wave (1-4, 1-2 CCAC) came out hot, scoring the game's first 12 points and leading throughout the rest of the day. Trailing 19-6, Trinity went on a 9-3 run with a three-pointer from Cison and six more points from Miller, but the 22-15 deficit would be as close as the Trolls would get in the first half, as Calumet out-scored Trinity by a 20-16 margin over the final ten minutes before halftime.
Another run in the second half fueled by a pair of buckets from Miller brought the Trolls to within single digits, 62-54, at the 9:02 mark. Two more free throws from Miller with 5:54 left to play made it a seven-point game, 70-63, but Calumet would come back with eight unanswered points to pull away and secure the win.
The Trolls will look to bounce back next Saturday, November 19, when they travel to St. Ambrose. Tipoff with the Fighting Bees is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
