Box Score 2 PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Hosting the 2022 Troll Classic as part of Trinity Christian College's Fall Fest weekend, Trinity Men's Basketball picked up a pair of victories, defeating Moody Bible (Ill.) 111-53 on Friday night, and East-West (Ill.) 93-81 on Saturday afternoon inside DeVos Gymnasium.
Brady Loerop and Saeer Miller led the Trolls (3-0) with 21 points apiece in Friday night's win over the Archers, as the team posted their highest point total since the start of the 2015-16 season. Michael Wright, Jr. pitched in with 18 points and eight boards, and John Cison finished with 11 points.
Against the Phantoms on Saturday, Cison led the way with 22 points, while Loerop reached the 20-point mark for the second time. The Phantoms would hold a small lead throughout most of the first half, until a pair of free throws from Miller gave the Trolls a 23-21 lead at the 8:22 mark.
Vince Overway hit a pair of free throws before Cison's three-point play capped a quick 5-0 run for Trinity and gave the home team a 30-27 lead with 5:37 left before the halftime break. The Trolls would lead the rest of the way, closing the first half on a 7-0 run with all seven points coming from Loerop.
Next up for the Trolls is an exhibition matchup against NCAA Division I foes Illinois-Chicago. Tipoff from the Credit Union 1 Arena on the UIC campus is set for 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 7.
