Box Score CHICAGO, Ill. – Two Trolls finished with double-doubles on Tuesday night, but Trinity were unable to keep pace with sharpshooting Saint Xavier, falling on the road 80-75.
Troy Glover led the way for Trinity (4-8, 1-6 CCAC), scoring 20 points with 15 a game-high rebounds. Saeer Miller picked up 14 points and 11 boards, while Jayden Bridgeman scored 12 and John Cison tallied 11.
The host Cougars (12-3, 7-1 CCAC) held off Trinity with their performance beyond the arc, shooting 57.1% (12-21) from three-point range to out-gun the Trolls. In the first half both sides traded the lead four times, as Trinity went up by as much as six, 24-18 on one of Troy Glover's three dunks throughout the game. Saint Xavier responded from that point, closing the first half on a 19-6 run to claim a 37-30 advantage at the half.
Miller led the Trolls with 12 points in the second half, but Trinity were unable to pull even with the home team down the stretch.
The Trolls return to DeVos Gymnasium after the Christmas holiday, when they host Simmons (Ky.) for a New Year's Eve matchup. Tipoff with the Falcons is set for 3:00 p.m.
