Box Score Elgin, Ill. - After a great first half, Trinity Christian College men's basketball (10-18, 6-15 CCAC) couldn't sustain the same productivity for another 20 minutes. The Judson University (14-15, 11-10 CCAC) offense outscored the Trolls 42-25 in the second half on their way to a 74-60 victory. It is the fifth consecutive loss for the Trolls as they prepare for a non-conference road game on Thursday at Moody Bible College.
Sophomore Braxton Barnhizer led the Trolls in scoring with 12 points. He also led the team in rebounds with eight.
In the first half, the Trolls led by as many as 11 points when senior James Pennington nailed a three-pointer to make it 28-17. After Judson answered with a three of their own, Pennington came right back down and hit another three-pointer to make it 31-20 with under five minutes to go in the half. But Judson's offense woke up and ended the first half on a 12-4 run and the Trolls lead was just 35-32.
With 17:20 to play in the game, Barnhizer hit a three-pointer to give the Trolls a 42-37 lead, but the Trolls went ice cold after that. For nearly 10 minutes, Trinity Christian College could only muster up one-point as they were outscored 23-1 and the Eagles soared away with the win.
