Box Score Deerfield, Ill. - Senior Gabby Kreykes has posted some incredible numbers in her two years at Trinity Christian College and Thursday night was another evening to remember. She scored 38 points on an efficient 13-for-25 from the field, but Trinity Christian College women's basketball (12-10, 7-9 CCAC) fell short at Trinity International (7-12, 3-11 CCAC) by a final score of 65-58.
The Trolls shot just 29.5% from the field and didn't have an answer for one of the best post players in the conference, Trinity Internationals' Alina Jahnke. She scored 24 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and swatted four shots to lead the Trojans on both ends of the floor.
It was a back and forth affair which included nine ties and nine lead changes. In the third quarter though, the Trojans made their push and took a 10-point lead at 46-36 with just over a minute to play in the quarter. The Trolls came out in the fourth quarter and cut the lead to four points when Kreykes made a layup to start the quarter. But Trinity International re-built the lead to as many as 11 points.
Kreykes did her best to keep the Trolls in the game by scoring all 18 points of the Trolls points in the fourth quarter.
