Box Score Deerfield, Ill. - Senior James Pennington scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds, but the Trinity International (11-14, 7-10 CCAC) offense proved too much to handle and Trinity Christian College men's basketball (10-14, 6-11 CCAC) fell 110-87 on Thursday night.
Junior Erik Cohn posted a career high 20 points on 6-for-10 shooting and 3-for-6 from the three-point line.
With the Trolls trailing 13-11 in the first five minutes, the Trojans received a huge dunk from Leon Williams. That dunk ignited a 16-2 run and Trinity International took a 29-13 lead with 11:27 to play in the first half.
Two minutes later, sophomore Braxton Barnhizer had a layup to cut the lead to eight, but the Trojans went on another 16-2 run and led by double digits for the rest of the night.
NOTES & NUMBERS:
- Pennington collected his 11th, 20-point performance and has scored in double-figures 18 times this year.
- The Trolls committed a season-high 24 turnovers.
- Freshman Deon McLaughlin scored 20 points for the fourth time this year. In his last eight games, McLaughlin is averaging 15.8 points per game.
- Trinity International shot 41.7% (15-36) from the three-point line.
