Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3

Elgin, Ill. - After dropping the first two games of their three-game series vs Judson University (15-21, 13-9 CCAC), Trinity Christian College baseball (11-24, 7-15 CCAC) dropped all three games of the series. The Trolls held a ninth-inning lead against Judson in the final game of the set but allowed two runs in the inning and lost, 6-5.

In the first of the three games, a solo nine-inning game, Trinity had nine hits. Senior Nicolas Guttierez, junior Tyler Petersen and freshman Preston Moore each had two hits. After trailing 3-0 in the fifth inning, Junior Michael Moralez singled and scored sophomore Oli Carmody to make it 3-1. Judson's offense kept hitting though and score two in the fifth and one in the sixth inning to take a 6-1 lead.

Junior Jordan Veldman drove home two in the ninth inning but Trinity still lost, 6-3.

Trinity came back in the second game of the series on Saturday and allowed six runs in the first inning. Judson was the away team but both games of Saturday's doubleheader were played in Elgin.

The Trolls had seven hits in the first game and Moralez grabbed two of them. Trinity trailed 10-0 in the fourth but a Veldman fielder's choice made it 10-1. The Trolls added three more in the seven-inning game. In the sixth, junior Hunter Slaats delivered two runs with a double. A ground out for junior Miles Williams scored another run but the Trolls fell 10-4.

In the final game of the series, Trinity had everything working. The Trolls first four batters in the lineup – Veldman, Carmody, Moralez and Slaats all had two hits. Carmody got the scoring started in the first inning with an RBI single.

Junior Nathan Deckinga was a force on the mound. He tossed 5.1 innings and allowed only two runs. The Trolls best inning came in the third frame on back-to-back home runs. First it was Moralez with a two-run bomb and then it was Slaats with a solo home run to extend the lead at 4-1. Judson bounced back in the fifth inning with one run, and then two more in the seventh. The game was tied at four.

The Trolls got one back in the 8th inning. An RBI ground out from Williams in the eighth gave Trinity the 5-4 lead. Judson struck twice in the ninth inning and earned the 6-5 win.
