Box Score PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Despite out-shooting their opponents on Tuesday afternoon, Trinity Men's Soccer were unable to get on the scoreboard in a 1-0 loss to St. Ambrose at the Schaaf Athletic Complex.
A goal in the 11th minute would be the difference for the Fighting Bees (3-5-1, 2-2-1 CCAC), as the visitors held off a 12-4 shooting margin in favor of the Trolls (1-7-2, 1-4-1 CCAC).
In the second half, Trinity generated three late chances that resulted in shots on goal, but were stopped by the St. Ambrose goalkeeper. In the 73rd minute, freshman Guille Mate fired a header that was stopped, while Alec Belcastro and Jorge Alencar each had attempts to even the score in the 85th and 87th minutes. Another two chances from Manasse Mbuyi with under eight minutes to play both just missed the target as well.
The Trolls will look to bounce back on Saturday night, when they make the 15-minute drive to Saint Xavier and take on the Cougars. Kickoff from Deaton Field is set for 7:30 p.m.
