PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Faith Davis knocked down a career-high seven three-pointers on Saturday afternoon, leading Trinity with 21 points but the Trolls would come up just short in the search for their third straight victory, falling to the St. Ambrose Bees 75-68 inside DeVos Gymnasium.

Davis finished with 21 points on the day, going 7-for-10 from beyond the arc, just two more threes shy of matching the program's single-game record. Destiny Goodwin scored 15 points off the bench, on 6-of-13 shooting, while Hannah Schuringa posted a season-high 14 points with seven rebounds.

In a back-and-forth first quarter that saw five lead changes, the Trolls (8-12, 5-8 CCAC) went up 18-14 on a Davis three-pointer at the 2:01 mark. St. Ambrose (13-7, 9-4 CCAC) responded with a three of their own to make it one-point game at the end of the opening period.

Two more threes from Davis to start the second quarter helped give the Trolls their largest lead of the day, 26-21 with 7:06 left in the first half. The Bees would respond in the final minutes before the break, scoring six straight to reclaim the lead and taking a 33-32 edge into the break.

The Trolls moved back in front at the end of the third, following a go-ahead bucket from Schuringa and a three-pointer from Goodwin that made it a 57-52 lead going into the fourth quarter. St. Ambrose rallied quickly, scoring five straight in the fourth to tie the game, and would take the lead midway through the quarter. The visitors would hold on the rest of the way to take the win, as the Trolls struggled to a 25% (5-20) shooting percentage in the final period, after going 71.4% (10-14) from the floor in the third.

Trinity will look to bounce back on Wednesday, as they host Indiana Northwest in a key CCAC matchup. Tipoff from DeVos with the Redhawks on January 25 is set for 5:30 p.m.
