Box Score PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Brady Loerop recorded his first double-double of the year, as Trinity secured their third win in a row, 82-73 over St. Ambrose inside DeVos Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
Loerop finished with 11 points and a career-high 14 rebounds in the win, as four players finished in double figures for the Trolls (9-10, 5-8 CCAC). Saeer Miller and Michael Wright each scored a team-high 18 points, while John Cison posted 13 points on the day.
After two early buckets from Cison, Trinity took the lead for good on Miller's layup at the 15:34 mark of the first half. The score started a 10-2 run for the Trolls, with a three from Loerop making it an 18-11 lead with 12:42 remaining in the first half.
Trinity continued to build their lead, leading by as much as 19 points on Wright's jumper with 4:44 left in the first half, giving the Trolls a 26-17 advantage. Miller led the Trolls with 12 first-half points, going 5-for-6 from the floor before the halftime break.
The Bees (2-10, 3-13 CCAC) would respond in the second half, opening with an 8-2 run to close the gap to 48-39. The visitors would climb to within six points of the Trolls three different times in the second half, but were unable to get any closer, as Wright's ten points in the second period would lead Trinity and help secure the win.
The Trolls will look to extend their season-long win streak on Wednesday night, as they continue to fight for a spot in next month's CCAC Tournament by hosting Indiana Northwest. Tipoff from DeVos is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on January 25.
