Box Score PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – John Cison led all scorers, but Trinity would be unable to rally back from a slow start as the Trolls dropped Saturday's home matchup to Indiana South Bend, 63-54.
Cison finished with 22 points, his second straight 20-point game and ninth of the season, going 9-for-18 from the floor and 4-for-7 from beyond the arc. Michael Wright tallied ten points and seven rebounds, while Saeer Miller nearly recorded a double-double with nine points and ten boards.
The Titans (11-5, 8-2 CCAC) opened the game on a 13-3 run before Trinity (6-9, 2-7 CCAC) responded, but the Trolls were able to make it a two-point game on Cison's three-pointer at the 12:29 mark, 15-13. Trinity weren't able to pull even, and the visitors would take a 31-24 advantage into the halftime break.
In the second half, the Trolls hung around but couldn't quite close the gap. Troy Glover's dunk at the 11:23 mark made it a 44-41 score, but the Titans responded with back-to-back threes on the other end of the court as part of a 9-2 run that would put the game out of reach.
The Trolls will look to bounce back on Wednesday, when they hit the road to take on Holy Cross. Tipoff with the Saints on January 11 is set for 6:30 p.m. CT / 7:30 p.m. ET.
