Box Score 2 WESTFIELD, Ind. – The Trolls suffered a walk-off defeat in the first game of Thursday's doubleheader with Grace (Ind.), but battled back to the tune of 21 hits in seven innings for a 15-7 victory over the Lancers in game two at Grand Park.
The Trolls (2-6) blasted three or more run in the final four innings of the nightcap, turning a 5-2 deficit through three innings into an eight-run victory. Hunter Slaats led the team with four RBI, going 3-for-5 at the plate with a double and run scored. Anthony Cappelletti, Jordan Veldman, and Brian Huttner all scored three RBI apiece, as Veldman finished a home run shy of the cycle, and Cappelletti connected on his second home run of the year.
Gunnar Bettenhausen earned his first win of the season, striking out five batters over 4.2 innings of relief.
In the first game of the day, a four-run sixth inning set the table for a Trinity comeback in the top of the 7th. Slaats' two-run double scored Michael Moralez and Veldman to put the Trolls in front 7-6. Grace (6-3) responded in the bottom of the 7th, with a two-out, three-run walk-off home run.
Brock Bolser went 2-for-3 with three RBI, a double, and triple in the first game, finishing a combined 4-for-8 on the day.
The Trolls will look to take the four-game series with the Lancers as they close with another doubleheader at Grace on Saturday, February 25. First pitch from Winona Lake, Ind. is scheduled for 12:00 pm Central/1:00 pm Eastern.
