Box Score JOLIET, Ill. – Faith Davis would lead Trinity with 15 points off five made three-pointers on Saturday afternoon, but a slow start would be too much to overcome as the Trolls fell on the road to St. Francis, 69-56.
Katarina Savic and Laila McNeal each scored 12 to go with Davis' 15 as the three players in double figures for the Trolls (9-15, 6-11 CCAC). Savic picked up five steals on the day, while McNeal registered six rebounds and three assists.
Davis' three to open the game briefly gave the Trolls the lead, but the Saints (19-5, 14-3 CCAC) would then go on a 21-2 run to take a commanding lead near the end of the first quarter. Trinity were held to just nine points in the second quarter, as the home team built a 37-17 advantage at the half.
The Trolls bounced back in the fourth, out-scoring St. Francis 19-8 as Hannah Schuringa led the rally with a team-high six points, but the team was unable to rally back from the early deficit.
Trinity will now prepare to match up with the Governors State Jaguars on Wednesday night, February 8. Tipoff from DeVos Gymnasium is set for 5:30 p.m.
