Box Score PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. - Sofia Radice led all scorers with 21 points, as three players finished in double figures, but Trinity would fall to Governors State on Wednesday night, 59-49.
The Trolls (9-16, 6-12 CCAC) started off slow, as the visitors would jump out to a 13-0 lead to open the game before Trinity worked the deficit back to 9 by the end of the first quarter. The slow start continued into the second quarter as Trinity was out-scored 18-7 in the period, and the Trolls found themselves down 35-13 at half.
When the third quarter rolled around, the Trolls rallied and cut the lead down to 12 going into the fourth quarter, thanks to six third-quarter points from Radice, and another five from Destiny Goodwin. With about 4 minutes left in the fourth quarter, Sofia Radice hit two big layups, which cut the lead to single digits. Destiny Goodwin followed that up with an and one of her own which got the home crowd into the game. Governors State () responded with five unanswered points however, pulling away down the stretch to secure the win.
The Trolls next test comes on Saturday, when they travel to Olivet Nazarene. Tipoff with the Tigers is set for 1:00 p.m.
