WARSAW, Ind. – Trinity Cross Country wrapped up the 2024 season on Friday morning, as the Trolls competed at the NCCAA Cross Country National Championships. The men's team would finish 11th overall, while the women's squad earned a 9th-place team finish.
Senior Olivia Wrobel led the way for the Trolls in the women's 5k, posting a time of 21:24 to place 47th overall. The top four runners for Trinity finished in the 21-minute bracket, in freshman Alyssa Seinen (21:26; 50th), sophomore Ari Juarez (21:34; 52nd), and junior Maddy Butler (21:53; 58th). Sophomore Angelina Calvillo finished in scoring position for the Trolls, posting a personal-best 22:43 to place 72nd overall.
The men's team was led by senior Trenton Brown, who placed 62nd with an 8k time of 29:32. Aitor Mateo also finished under 30 minutes, with a 66th-place result, crossing the line at 29:48.
Also scoring for the Trolls were freshman Jacob Brouwer (30:27; 74th), junior Jesus Portilla (30:49; 78th), and sophomore Jeremiah Klompien (31:48; 82nd).
The Trolls now set their sights on indoor track & field season, which kicks off next month with a trip to Olivet Nazarene on December 7.
