Race Preview
• Trinity Cross Country continues the 2025 season on Friday evening with their second race of the season, when the Trolls compete at the Olivet Nazarene Midwest Classic, hosted by Aspen Ridge Golf Course in Bourbonnais.
• The Trolls are coming off a 3rd-place finish for the women and 8th-place result for the men at the St. Francis Twilight Invite last month. Trinity's women's team qualified for the NCCAA Cross Country National Championships with their performance, set for Nov. 14.
• Friday will mark the 13th all-time appearance for the Trolls at the ONU Midwest Classic. The men's team finished as high as 2nd at the event in 2011, while the women's squad has three 3rd-place results (2010; 2014; 2018).
• Trinity claims two individual titles while at the Midwest Classic. Andy Reidsma (25:45.5) won the men's race in 2012, while Jessica Disselkoen (18:45.2) took home the top prize in the 5k race for the women in 2014.
• Last season the Trolls raced at the Midwest Classic for just the second time in six years, and the first time since 2021. Battling extreme heat during the race, Trinity would finish 11th in the womens' 5k, and 10th in the men's 8k.
• Trinity's current roster have just one appearance, coming in 2024.
Angelina Calvillo has the top time among returners from last year, finishing 69th overall and 3rd on the team in 2024 with a time of 24:28.
Jeremiah Klompien was the men's top finisher a year ago, placing 96th overall with a time of 32:30.
