MILWAUKEE – Trinity Cross Country posted their lowest point totals of the season on Saturday, as the Trolls competed at the Warrior Invitational, hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran.
Trinity's women's squad earned their second top-three finish of the fall, placing 3rd out of 11 teams. The Trolls tallied 84 points, their lowest total in three races this year. Four Trolls finished among the top 25, led by senior Jordyn Fleener's 10th-place result (25:38.6).
Ariadna Juarez (25:53.3) finished 11th, while Maddy Butler (27:28.3; 17th) and Ava Viletstra (27:46.1; 21st) also finished in the top 25.
The men's team earned their best team result of the season, placing 7th and compiling a season-low 166 points. Senior Aitor Mateo led the way, finishing the 8k race in 29:38.2 to place 28th overall and improve his time at the event by over a minute from last season.
Five more Trolls finished under 31 minutes, including Jesus Portilla (30:25.5; 36th), Cristian Contreras (30:34.8; 39th), Demario Angarita (30:42.2; 42nd), Jacob Brouwer (30:54.4; 47th), and Jeremiah Klompien (30:56.6; 48th).
Trinity returns next week, when they travel to Indiana for the Bethel Pilot Invite on Friday, Oct. 10 in South Bend, Ind.
