• Trinity Women's Soccer hits the road for the first time this year, as the Trolls travel to Cornerstone on Tuesday night. On Friday, Trinity returns to the Schaaf for their second home game of the year when they host Mount Mercy (Iowa).
• The Trolls are coming off a 2-0 loss to No. 10 Spring Arbor (Mich.) last week in the season opener. Trinity faced a 16-2 shooting deficit, but held strong until the Cougars broke through with a goal in the 38th minute to take the lead.
• The match was the first time Trinity had been held scoreless since last season's NCCAA North Central Regional final with Judson, which finished in a 0-0 draw before the Eagles advanced on penalties. The Trolls bounced back with a three-goal outburst in a win over Warner (Fla.) in the first match of the NCCAA Women's Soccer National Championship.
• The Trolls and Golden Eagles met up last season, with Trinity taking a 2-0 win at the Schaaf Athletic Complex in early September.
Emily Soriaga put the Trolls in front with a goal in the 2nd minute, and
Hadley Vander Bent scored her first career goal to put the match away in the 72nd. Goalkeeper
Michelle Urribarri earned the clean sheet with one save.
• Trinity and Mount Mercy battled to a 2-2 draw a year ago, as the Trolls battled back from a 2-1 halftime deficit to earn the result. In the first-ever meeting between the two sides,
Litzy Corona scored one of her team-leading 13 goals on the year, while
Demi Scibetta recorded the game-tying goal in the 79th minute.
• Since 2022, the Trolls hold a 7-5-1 record in matches after being held scoreless. Trinity has bounced back with a total of 23 goals being scored in those 13 matches, and a goal differential of +7.
• This season is the first for Head Coach
Gabriel Sitibaldi, who will guide both the men's and women's programs for 2025. Sitibaldi previously coached women's soccer at his alma mater, Williams Baptist (Ark.) for six seasons alongside the Eagles' men's program.
• The Trolls are coming off claiming the 2024 NCCAA National Championship, the third national title in program history, and the fifth national championship overall for Trinity Christian College.
