PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Behind 25 points from John Cison, Trinity picked up a non-conference victory on Saturday, defeating Grace Christian (Mich.) 83-72.

The Trolls (4-5) finished with four players in double figures,  as Cison led the way with a 11-for-17 performance from the floor and six assists. Vince Overway picked up 14 points off the bench, going 3-for-4 from beyond the arc. Michael Wright scored 11 points with six boards, and Troy Glover came within shouting distance of a triple-double, recording 11 points, 13 rebounds, and seven blocked shots.

A slow start for the home team allowed the Tigers (7-7) to jump out to a 14-5 lead over the first three minutes of play. Trinity responded with a 16-2 run to reclaim the lead, capped off with Dustin Hudak's layup at the 11:11 mark of the first half to put the Trolls ahead 21-16.

Trinity would stay in from the rest of the way, leading by as much as 15 in the first half after Glover's dunk made it a 44-29 score with 1:22 remaining before the break. Cison led all scorers with 17 first-half points.

A quick 7-0 run for Grace Christian early in the second helped to close the gap, as the Trolls went just over five minutes without a field goal before Overway's three-pointer with 13:03 to play kept the home team in control, 55-46. A steal and dunk from Glover pushed Trinity's lead back to double digits, as the Trolls earned their fourth home victory of the year.

Trinity steps back into conference play next week, when they host St. Francis. Tipoff with the Saints is set for Thursday, December 15, at 7:00 p.m.
