Box Score KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Trinity's run through the NCCAA World Series came to an end on Tuesday afternoon, as the 9th-seeded Trolls were unable to keep pace with No. 2 Southwestern Christian (Okla.), falling in the national semifinal, 14-4.
Jordan Veldman led the Trolls (29-28) at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. Oliver Carmody finished 2-for-4 with a double and RBI.
The Eagles (37-21) jumped out to an early lead, scoring a pair of runs in the bottom of the 2nd. Trinity pulled even with run-scoring singles from Carmody and Veldman. Southwestern Christian would pull away however, scoring seven runs over the next two innings to build a 9-2 advantage.
Hunter Slaats would add in a run with a fielder's choice in the 6th, and Veldman would hit a solo home run in the 8th, but the Trolls were unable to close the gap any further.
Trinity closes out the season with a winning record, their highest win total since their last trip to the NCCAA World Series in 2019.
