PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Trinity Baseball and Softball swept the weekly awards on Tuesday, as the duo of Christopher Nielsen and Connor Janik earned CCAC Baseball Pitcher and Player of the Week, while Zoey Fleischauer and Alex Hofman picked up the same honors in softball.
Christopher Nielsen
Jr., SP (Melbourne, Australia)
• Picked up a win in the second game of a four-game sweep over Judson, throwing seven innings with just one hit allowed and nine strikeouts.
• Currently holds a 3-0 record on the season, holding batters to a .228 average over 24.2 innings pitched.
Connor Janik
So., C/DH (Frankfort, Ill. • Peotone HS)
• Hit for a .500 average and 1.143 slugging percentage in the sweep over Judson.
• Went 3-for-4 with two doubles in game one on Friday, and is currently on a five-game hit streak.
Zoey Fleischauer
Fr., P (Kankakee, Ill. • Hersher HS)
• Pitched three scoreless innings of relief in her collegiate pitching debut against Maranatha Baptist (Wisc.).
• Threw six strikeouts with just one walk surrendered over ten batters faced.
Alex Hofman
Jr., 3B (Monee, Ill. • Crete-Monee HS)
• Went 2-for-2 in both games of a doubleheader sweep over Maranatha Baptist.
• Scored three runs on the day and five RBI, including four runs driven in during game two.
• Had two extra-base hits, a pair of doubles in the second game.
