PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Following two strong outings for Trinity Baseball, senior pitcher Jacob Hutcherson was named the CCAC Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday.
The Winona Lake, Ind. native allowed just one run over 11.1 innings of work, while recording 11 strikeouts on the week. In the Trolls' win over St. Ambrose on Tuesday, Hutcherson threw 5.2 innings without allowing a single base hit and striking out eight.
On Saturday, Hutcherson pitched another 5.2 innings against Olivet Nazarene, giving up just one earned run with three strikeouts.
On the season, Hutcherson has a 7-0 record, and is tied for the CCAC lead with seven victories, while ranking 3rd in the league with a 3.53 ERA.
The Trolls are currently 4th in the CCAC standings, just four games behind conference leaders St. Francis, with whom Trinity begins a four-game series with on Friday, April 19. The series comes to the Schaaf Athletic Complex for the final two games, with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 20.
