ALLENDALE, Mich. – Five more athletes met qualifying standards on Saturday, as Trinity Track & Field made their second appearance of the indoor season at the Grand Valley State Bob Eubanks Open.
Four of the five qualifying marks came from the women's squad, including two in the women's 800 meters. Ariadna Juarez posted a personal-best time of 2:28.53, and Jordyn Fleener ran a 2:31.01 to qualify for the NCCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships later this year.
Two more Trolls hit NCCAA marks in the field events; Abigail Hoekzema cleared 4' 11" (1.50m) to finish T-7th in the women's high jump. In the women' shot put, Alexa Velazquez threw for 36' 2.25" (11.03m) on her final attempt to qualify for nationals.
On the men's side, Kyran Thurmond met the NCCAA standard in the 400 meters with a time of 51.33, setting a new personal indoor record.
Three athletes posted NCCAA-qualifying marks for the second time this season, including Paige Stefanek in the women's weight throw (41' 8.75"; 12.72m), Madison Moraga in the men's 60 meters (7.04), and Ivan Emde in the men's pole vault (13' 11.75"; 4.26m).
In addition to the personal records set by Juarez and Thurmond, another ten Trolls would set P.R.s on the day, including:

Trinity is back in action next weekend, when they travel to Davenport, Iowa and take part in the St. Ambrose Fighting Bee Invite, beginning on Saturday, January 25.
