Trolls set personal bests at Walter Cramer Invite

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Jordyn Fleener became the first Troll this season to qualify for the NCCAA national meet in a second event, while the Trinity Track & Field Team collected a total of 20 personal records at the Walter Cramer Invite, hosted by Olivet Nazarene on Friday night.

Fleener would post a time of 5:36.03 in the women's mile, meeting the NCCAA standard after doing so in the 800 meters last month. Her mile performance marks the seventh NCCAA standard met by the Trinity women's squad.

Ariadna Juarez also hit the NCCAA mark in the 800 meters for the second straight appearance, posting a team-best 2:29.70. The Trolls picked up two more NCCAA standards in the throwing events, as Alexa Velazquez (11.30m; 37' 1") and Paige Stefanek (13.50m; 44' 3.5") set personal bests in the shot put and weight throw, respectively. Stafanek's mark also moves the junior up the CCAC performance list, to No. 2 in the conference.

The lone win on the night for the Trolls came in the women's high jump, as Abigail Hoekzema matched her season high and the NCCAA standard with a winning jump of 4' 11" (1.50m). Hoekzema now has two wins on the season, in three appearances.
