CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Three Trolls secured two national qualifiers apiece, as Trinity Track & Field had their strongest performance of the early outdoor season at the Mustang Distance Carnival & Open on Friday and Saturday.
Alysia Arias picked up her second and third NCCAA qualifying marks, as the junior posted a time of 12.99 in the women's 100 meters, and a time of 26.61 in the women's 200 meters. In the mid-distance events, Jordyn Fleener and Ari Juarez set personal record and reached the NCCAA marks in both the women's 800 meters as well as the women's 1,500 meters.
Three field athletes also hit NCCAA marks, including Abigail Hoekzema in the women's high jump (1.55m), Alexa Velazquez in the women's shot put (11.56m), and Paige Stefanek in the women's hammer throw (38.55m).
Trinity picked up one event win throughout the meet, when the team of Arias, Aolani Cannon, Ella Johnston, and Aalyssa Gunn claimed first place in the women's 4x100m relay with a time of 50.77 seconds.
