SOUTH BEND, Ind. - A combined eight Trolls between the men's and women's cross country teams set personal bests, as Trinity competed at the Bethel Pilots Invite on Friday.
The women's squad would bring home a 7th-place result, scoring 206 points in the 14-team field, while the men would place 8th out of ten teams, with 235 points.
Ariadna Juarez led the way in the women's 5k race for Trinity, placing 23rd overall with a P.R. time of 21:17. Junior Maddy Butler also set a personal best as the team's fourth finisher, finishing in 22:37 to place 47th overall.
Freshman Jasmine Orozco (24:20; 87th) and sophomore Jessica Olague (25:39; 107th) also set new personal records on the day.
In the men's race, Aitor Moya led the way for the Trolls for the second meet in a row, finishing 63rd overall with an 8k time of 30:42 to set a new personal best. Three other Trolls also set PRs in the men's race, including Jacob Brower (30:43; 64th), Luke Rotman (32:57; 84th), and Jack Lovelace (35:21; 96th).
Trinity will wrap up the regular season in two weeks, when the Trolls head to Grand Rapids to take part in the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge on Saturday, October 26.
