GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. A total of 12 runners set personal bests, as Trinity Cross Country had their strongest performance of the season at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge on Saturday.

The women's squad earned a 12th-place finish in the White race, while the men finished 23rd overall in the Maroon race.

Six Trolls set PRs on the women's side, with Ari Juarez leading the way with a 48th-place finish and a 5k time of 20:36. Olivia Wrobel finished in 21:07 to place 65th, and Alyssa Seinen was just behind in 67th, finishing in 21:08.

Maddy Butler was the team's fourth runner, setting a personal best time of 21:33 to finish 81st overall. Jasmine Orozco was 127th overall as the team's last scoring runner, with a time of 22:55. Jessica Olague also set a new personal record with a time of 23:47 to earn 145th overall in the 168-woman field.

On the men's side, six runners set new best times in the 8k race. Jacob Brower was the team's top finisher for the first time, finishing 116th overall with a time of 28:30. Aitor Mateo posted a time of 29:26 to finish 162nd, while Jesus Portilla was the team's third runner, crossing the line at 29:36 to place 168th.

Jeremiah Klompien (30:22; 185th) and Jack Lovelace (33:06; 212nd) rounded out the scoring positions for the Trolls with new PRs, and Nathaniel Macias also set a personal best with a time of 33:48 to place 215th overall.

The Trolls will now prepare for their next appearance, at the CCAC Cross Country Championships, set for Saturday, Nov. 9 in Bettendorf, Iowa.
